A landscape from the artist’s mellow later years. The view is from one of the many windows in Bratby’s large, rambling home called “The Cupola” in Hastings on the Sussex coast where he lived with his second wife, Patti.

The painting is signed Bratby and inscribed on the reverse: ‘5 Chichester’ (2).
