Clayton, Inge - David at the Tricycle / Male nude standing
A selection of two drawings and six prints.
1278-A and 1278-B are both sketches of a prone male figure (shown in photos 2 and 3) signed Clayton and dated I.VI, 90 (June 1st 1990). These are drawn on the back of digital prints of a finely developed male figure study, taken from a watercolour and wash original. The print on the back of 1278-A is an artist’s proof, signed in pencil and dated ‘95. The print on the back of 1278-B is unsigned. The remaining four prints - 1278-C,-D,-E and -F - are dated 1986 and comprise an artist’s proof, no. 8/100, no. 14/100 and a print without a visible number. (It is rather unusual to have two artist’s proofs with different dates.)
The Tricycle is a theatre in Kilburn, London, recently renamed for unknown reasons The Kiln
