Description
This painting and We will always live here were started when Stella was artist-in-residence at the Valeni estate in North East Romania, where the owner has been restoring an ancient manor house and parkland that features a large collection of rare trees. This region was once home to the Cucetini people who flourished between nearly 5,000 and 8,000 years ago, and Stella has incorporated symbols found on their ancient pottery into these paintings.
The titles of these paintings point out that trees have outlived past societies and will outlive our own.
